Burvle F. Fowler, 84, died Tuesday at his home in East Lansing, MI.
Services are planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Swearingen Funeral Chapel. Burial
will take place at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Seminole under the direction
of Swearingen Funeral Home.
Fowler lived most of his life in Seminole, except for brief periods in the 60s
and l987-l992 when he lived in Nashville, Tenn. He moved to Michigan in l992.
Fowler was born in Alabama on July 22, l912 to Daniel Moody Fowler and
Arabelle (Lucas) Fowler.
He married Helen Northam on Aug. 24, l935 near Ada. They were married for 61
He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in East Lansing, MI. He purchased a
Texaco Station in Wolf in 1938; he worked in the oil and gas industry until
his retirement from Atlantic Richfield (Sinclair) in l977.
Fowler was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Woodrow Fowler and a
sister, Margie Elliott.
His survivors include, Helen Northam Fowler of the home, two daughters,
Burdeanna Welch of East Lansing, MI., and Sharon Gregg of Nashville, Tenn.
Other survivors include two sisters, Audrey Roberts of Wolf and Minnie Doolen
of Midwest City; two brothers, M. D. Fowler of Maud and John Fowler of
Oklahoma City, and three grandsons.
