    Lyndol Redus, 71, of Paris went home Friday, Oct. 30, 1998, at St. Joseph's
    Hospital and Health Center. Bright-Holland Funeral Home will conduct services
    at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Randall
    Scott and the Rev. James Cheatham officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill
    Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
    Mr. Redus was born Jan. 19, 1927, in Groom, to Richard 'Dick' and Virgie
    Shannon Redus. He married De Loria Canida June 10, 1950, in Paris. A veteran
    of World War II, he served in the Army in the Philippines. He was an active
    member of Immanuel Baptist Church where he was a deacon, taught a co-ed Sunday
    school class and was a member of the Baptist Men. He was active in mission
    trips to build churches in Montana and Colorado and was active in the new
    addition being built at Immanuel Baptist. He worked for the Texas Highway
    Department and had been a machinist at Campbell Soup Co. and a machine shop
    instructor at Paris Junior College. He was a member of United Food Commercial
    Workers Union No. 1229 and served as its vice president and was a charter
    member of Mended Hearts No. 237 of St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center and
    served as its president. He was chairman of the Lake Crook Fisherman's
    Association. Mr.Redus worked with stained glass and also was an artist. He
    enjoyed serving his Lord and his community. He was an outdoorsman and also
    enjoyed hunting and fishing.
    Surviving are his wife; one brother, Billy Redus of Los Angeles, Calif.; two
    sisters, Jo Thompson of Fort Worth and Belle Burnsed of Los Angles and several
    nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, the Rev. Hubert
    Redus and L. J. Redus. Pallbearers will be James Wright, Raymond Whipple,
    Melvon Dusenberry, George Tabangcora, Tim Tabangcora and John Newman.
    Honorary bearers will be Bobby Flippen, Dr. Harley Davis, John Eastman,
    Clifford Stripland, Lannie Adams, Sam Word, Donnie White, Charles Hearn,
    Rickey Mackey, J. D.Scott, Randy Whitten and Jimmy King along with the deacons
    of Immanuel Baptist Church and Lyndol's former students at Paris Junior
    College. If desired, memorials may be made to Mended Hearts Chapter 237, Sonia
    Landers, treasurer, c/o of St. Joseph's Hospital and Health Center.
