Christine Elizabeth Redus, 72, of Paris died at 8:35 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5,
1996, at her home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Novice
Baptist Church with the Rev. J.T. Shipman and the Rev. Paul Appleby
officiating. Burial will be in Springhill Cemetery by Fry and Gibbs Funeral
Home. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral
home.
She was born Jan. 16, 1924, in Banty, Oklahoma, to Giles and Ginnie McDougal
Jones. She was a graduate of Paris High School. She married the Rev. Hubert
[B.] RedusJune 18, 1945. He died Nov. 8, 1983. She was a member of the
Silvertones and R.S.V.P. and served as secretary of the Mended Hearts and
secretary of the Adult 7 Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church. She was
a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church.
Surviving are a brother, Troy 'Bud' Jones of Paris; one sister, Mrs. Floy
Wheeler of Houston; a number of nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
Pallbearers will be Vernon Sims, Oliver Allen, Edmund Poole, Bobby McMonigle,
Danny Hooten and Bob McDougal.
