Questions:

     1.  Who was the Ceraphinia H. Redus who married John G. Williams.  I can not identify this Redus.  John G. Williams was the son of William A. Williams and the brother of James David Williams who married first Jennie Caroline Redus and then Perlina L. Redus, both the daughters of James F. Redus, son of James W. Redus, and who was killed in April, 1864.

First I found this marriage license for Sarah H. Redus and J. G. Williams dated December 1, 1868.  No record of the ceremony being performed.  I'm thinking "Sarah" is short for Ceraphinia. 1870 Census - Shows John G. as 28 years old, Ceraphinia as 30, and son James F. as 1.  Ceraphinia's birth place is listed as S.C..  The James F. is probably the James Franklin Williams buried next to John G. & Ceraphinia in Sailor Cemetery (3/19/1870-11/11/1894).  They are living a few doors down from Moses Denman, the man who cut down James F. Redus's body when he was hung and whose daughter married James F.'s grand nephew, William Gan Redus.

1880 Census - Shows John as 38, Carolina (i think a mistake) as 40, and James F. as 10.  Again Ceraphinia's birthplace is S.C., as well as her parents.

These are the graves of Ceraphinia H. Williams (6/15/1839-1/18/1896) and John G. Williams (3/20/1842-12/17/1915).  Sailor Cemetery, Lamar County, Alabama
